I began kiln casting glass early on when I was first introduced to the process of first making a wax then melting glass into a refractory mold. It seemed so much like photography; making many images from one negative. The Blue Relic series became part of an overarching alchemical theme of creating “something out of nothing” in which everyday objects of daily routine are transformed into something sacred and precious; becoming ritual objects on an altar.  The Teapot Series was inspired by residency in Taipei, Taiwan and an introduction to the tea culture that became a part of my daily ritual.
